Description
A secondary lance refers to an additional metal lance—similar to the oxygen lance and capable of vertical movement—that is installed alongside the primary oxygen lance in an oxygen top-blown converter. The tip of the secondary lance can be fitted with probes of various functions to measure parameters such as furnace temperature and chemical composition during the smelting process, with the collected data then transmitted via computer to the converter’s main control room.
